Here's what's been going on in recent kitchen design sessions:
- February 10th, 2007
- You may have noticed that the design blog hasn't been too lively.
That's because we're actually doing the base construction. We'll get
back to it once the renovation gets into design elements.
- January 21st, 2007
- I think we have an infestation. Even more renovation critters just
been seen. Anyone know a good exterminator?
- January 14th, 2007
- Renovation critters have already been showing up. We're becoming
concerned. If you have any advice on how we can deal with them, let us
know. For more info, check out our critters page.
- December 29th, 2006
- Well, today was a weird one at Heck's Kitchen. Marie Anne came over
and confused the heck out of our color scheme. Apparently all vestiges
of copper and bronze are rapidly disappearing. And here I hoped to sneak
in some blue/green tints of copper patina into the kitchen. My evil
plans have been discovered. So, more stainless steel it is.
Kris' desk was one of the design items I've been trying to kill for a
long time too. Oh sure, I know that we need a place for recipe creation
and note taking, as well as a laptop station so that all of what goes on
in Heck's Kitchen can be recorded for posterity. The problem is that
I've been itching to keep the tradition of wood fired bagels going, not
to mention the only real way to make pizza. Never mind that a decent
wood oven is at least 900 lbs, and costs way too much. Also ignore the
fundamental design principle we have of it has to be used often to make
the cut. And, well, Toronto is just so anti-real-bagel that my son
refuses to even admit that Montreal bagels are the best in the world -
recipe to be posted eventually - when I can adapt one to a gas
convection oven. Stay blog-attached, I may even revolutionize bagel
baking in the home kitchen.
