Here's the rating I give my experiments when trying to recreate a dish:

- 5 - Perfect
- The reproduction or dish was absolutely spot on. No adjustments needed.
Write it down and keep this one, if it tastes good.
- 4 - Near Miss
- You're close, very close, and may get it right next time. Only a little
adjustment in the seasoning is needed.
- 3 - Nice Try
- The dish looks about right, but something's not quite there: texture;
presentation; flavour; or something else.
- 2 - What Were You Making?
- You made something, but didn't come close enough for fine tuning. This is
probably a technique error, so go back and think it over.
- 1 - Not Even Close
- What were you making again? Suppose you were trying for a soufflé and got
a grilled cheese sandwich instead.
